Abstract: The paper raises the question of using dandyism as a literary (behavioural) strategy by the emigrant Russian writer Gayto Gazdanov. Consideration is given to such peculiarities of the dandyistic subculture reflected in Gazdanov’s literary image as sportsmanship, gentleman’s code of behaviour, club culture, compliance with definite behavioural imperatives, exclusivism, struggle with vulgarity, «stoicism».
