Abstract: The paper is devoted to the research into the semantics of gaps in the compositional structure of the novel by A.S. Pushkin «Eugene Onegin». Seemingly, the left out fragments not only are formally present in the text in the form of leaderings (dotted lines) and numerical marks, but also form a special semantic field, governs the semantic partitioning of the work, actualizes the key subjects, demanding from the reader an increased aesthetic activity.
