Abstract: The paper investigates one of the ways of solving the modernistic problem of integrality which is presented in V.V. Nabokov’s narrative discourse, the principle of metanarration. Also revealed in the paper are the genetic links of Nabokov's metanarration with the narration of M. Proust, with the translation of «Eugene Onegin» into English and the problems of bilingualism.
