Abstract: Article is devoted speech genres in the Altay proverbs and the sayings representing standard statements. Their text modality is various, 4 inclinations are presented to them: Indicative, Imperative, Conditional, Imperative-Optative; and also the means expressing a Obligative modality. Modal forms of a predicate in proverbs and sayings creat different discourse genres, such as statement, dispraise, praise, prohibition, recommendation, desire, instruction, warning and obligation.
