Abstract: The paper investigates the problem of the classification of verbs, capable of joining explanatory clauses based on their combinatory power. It is the different types of explanatory clauses that actualize the actual and potential semes in the prop verbs and make it possible to refer these verbs to definite classes and subclasses, fields and microfields.
