Abstract: This article depicts two approaches to discourse picture of the world analysis, such as system-structural and functional. Descriptive, axiological, pragmatic and semiotics aspects are revealed in the structure of discourse picture of the world. Pragmatic aspect of discourse picture of the world is regarded as determining the correlation between semiotic and descriptive on the one hand and axiological aspects on the other. Recipro-cal influence of language and discourse pictures of the world are characterized on given basis.
