Abstract: This article describes the essence of literature-centrism as a characteristic of thinking of contemporary Chinese writer Wang Meng. Specific features of creative conver-sion of traditions of Russian and French classic literature in Wang Meng’s novels are discussed. The influence of I.S. Turgenev’s method of «secret psychology», G. Flaubert’s autobiographic features as well as the role of ironic imitation of Chekhov’s «literary pose» by Wang Meng’s characters on writer’s style, personality concept and ethical ideals.
