Abstract: In this paper the issue of semantic field recomposition in diachronic aspect is ex-amined. This problem is objectively stipulated for discrepancy between the contempo-rary linguistic mentality and the one of the native speakers who created several centu-ries ago the texts which are used as material for this research. The methodology of se-mantic analysis of the lexico-phraseological units in the business manuscripts of the XVIIth century is described. This permits to reveal the semantic paradigms forming the nucleus and the periphery of the semantic field and present its structure as a hierarchy of semantic paradigms.
