Abstract: The paper continues the series of the author’s publications devoted to the inquiry into the mechanisms of forming the folkloric versions of biblical legends. A comparison of bookish and folkloric forms of biblical narrations demonstrates different variants of relations between book-stories and folklore. The present paper considers examples of plots and motifs of legends of the Slavic Folk Bible which were transferred from the oral tradition into the hand-written book tradition.
